Tips for Reducing Salt Intake to Lose Weight Faster

  1. Do not add extra salt in salads, fruits
  2. Have saltless omelette, nimbu paani
  3. Cabbage, spinach and mushroom don't need salt, you can cook them with little or no salt
  4. Chips, canned, tinned food, preserves, salad dressings, all readymade food have excess salt and should be avoided.
  5. Never have rice for dinner; it makes you feel heavy and turns into water during the night.
  6. Use more of rock salt or sendha namak which has less sodium than normal salt
  7. Select spices or seasonings that do not list sodium on their labels, i.e. choose garlic powder over garlic salt.
  8. Salt preference is an acquired taste that can be unlearned. It takes about 6-8 weeks to get used to eating food with much lower quantities of salt, but once it's done, it's actually difficult to eat foods like potato chips because they taste way too salty.
